Freddie Kruger before A Nightmare on Elm Street

Robert Englund came by my old studio in the Outpost Building in Hollywood back in 1978 at the beginning of his film career and we did a quick session.  He went on to become famous as the iconic horror film character Freddie Kruger.  He looks a little more tame here I think.  He was good friends with my old partner in our short-lived partnership in Oasis Studios.  We were both just out of Art Center College of Design and had big plans….you know how that goes. The fun part of being in the Outpost Building was that we would use the shoe shine guys in the lobby as our secretaries and one in particular named Cowboy would greet the client and come up to the second floor to let us know that they had arrived and would bring them up……all very Hollywood Noir.
