These images are a sampling of a larger body of work that sprung from experiments with lighting effects. As I worked the imagery became darker, more mysterious and less defined as a landscape and more of a depiction of a feeling. Having read C.S. Lewis as a kid and having those books running through my head as I worked, I thought I would pay homage in some way to the author and thus the title of the series “The Wood Between the Worlds”.

I am going to move this blog to a purely visual representation of my thoughts………….after all, it’s what I do best and what I am. There will also be topical posts on our new administration……………..joy……………..and highlight new areas of inventiveness and inspiration. I hope you enjoy the thinking and please let me know your thoughts and feel free to be visual. Here’s a start.

This man you know, or should. He is Michael Moschen and he will change your perception of perception. Obviously Michael has a unique sense of balance and space relationships but he also seems to be tapped into another dimension, one that distributes time, not just keeps a beat with it. I think he is able to work with his right brain and left brain at will to produce the extraordinary. I am absolutely transfixed when watching common objects become moving things of beauty and the cut circle dance is pure grace. Geometry never looked and felt so good. This video is a bit old ( 2002 ) so it would be interesting to see what he is up to now. If anyone has something new to contribute on Michael I would love to see it.

I was introduced to this organization just the other day by a good friend and I’m very thankful for the link. These people are tapped into the pulse of creative inspiration and world consciousness and I will be using them as a source of reference weekly. I feel like there is hope left in this left brain world when I visit; don’t get me wrong, there is a great deal of imagination out there, it just seems like there has to be a certain bit of luck in the finding of that inspiration. If more people knew of TED and organizations like them we could all find a feeling of possibility like I have. For a taste of what TED has to offer check the link below and me know if it grabs you also……it’s what drew me into TED in the first place

My ongoing collection has been represented by Veer for five years now and I can honestly report that sales have been steady with all months reporting significant revenue. The editors at Veer are sharp and know their stuff, not to mention great to work with. I have used their advise on many occasions and they are a strong forum for my visual experiments. Since their purchase recently by Corbis the sales have jumped even higher. Thanks Veer if you’re listening.

A project I’ve been working on for the past six months is a series of images in a long horizontal format with water as the theme. The title of the series is “What Passes for Calm”. The imagery is sized at 18″tall X 60″wide and is abstract in nature. It is beginning to make the rounds of Galleries in Los Angeles and SanFrancisco and I’m hoping to have a show locked down by the end of the year.
Update: As of last week, the imagery from this collection has been picked up by two art consulting firms, one being SOHO Myriad out of Atlanta, and the other being ArtAdvice out of New York. Both of these firms work with selling and placing art in corporate environments.
